Coaches
Guy Martyn - Senior Men's Coach
Guy Martyn brings an impressive coaching record to our club for the 2026 season, including VAFA premierships with St Kevin's in Premier A in 2018 and Hampton Rovers in Division 1 in 2013. He joins us after coaching Glen Eira/McKinnon for a season in Premier C in 2025. With a wealth of Bayside sporting involvement and connections in both winter and summer sports, Guy is well placed to guide the Bloods to compete with the best in Amateur football.
David Lappage - Senior Women's Coach
David came on board as coach of our Women's team in 2024. Having previously coached the OHAFC Under 19's from 2007-2009, the Senior Men in 2010-2011 and the school First XVIII from 2012-2019, he is looking forward to coaching senior girls for another year. A teacher at the school and having coached the Girl's 2nds over the past two years, he is already making an impact in enticing past students down to the club to continue playing football and representing the mighty Hearts.
David Connell - Senior Men's Reserves Coach
David is an OHAFC Life Member having played 197 games. He is a former club captain, triple Premiership player, dual Best and Fairest winner, member of the Team of the Century and represented the VAFA on multiple occasions. David is a passionate supporter of the OHAFC and having been involved with the team for such a long stint is very excited to lead the new generation of club newcomers. Finalists with the Under-19s in 2023 and 2024, David will be doing his utmost to develop this group of players further in 2025.
Anthony Wright - Under 19's Coach
Anthony Wright brings a natural talent and a strong commitment to developing young players at all levels. A former OHAFC player, Wrighty's deep connection to the club, having started his football journey in our U19 program, gives him a unique understanding of the vital role U19 coaches play in nurturing the future of our club and embedding players in our culture. A teacher by profession, Wrighty possesses the perfect attributes to guide and mentor our young men.
Shane Watson - Director of Coaching
Shane Watson played over 140 games for Collingwood in the 1990s, where his achievements included Runner-up Best & Fairest in 1993. After playing, he coached Lower Plenty in the DVFL and the Eastern Ranges in the TAC Cup. Shane's appointments as an assistant coach included North Melbourne under Brad Scott from 2010, four years as part of the Carlton coaching team and a year with the Sandringham Dragons. After a brief spell as Recruiting Manager at Hawthorn, Shane was appointed Director of Coaching at De La Salle Old Collegians from 2021-2023 before taking up the same role with us in 2025. His wide football experience is an invaluable support to our coaching team.
